COVID-19 Update - October 8, 2020

The Nova Scotia Lifesaving Sport Commission met on October 8, 2020, to discuss the increase to gathering limits for sporting events recently released by the Nova Scotia Government's Department of Health and Wellness. More details regarding this change can be found by clicking here.

Specific safety guidelines for Lifesaving Sport in Nova Scotia are currently under preparation.

Announcements regarding the Pool/Emergency Response 2020/2021 season will be made by the end of November 2020.

The NS Lifesaving Society has cancelled the remainder of the Open Water 2020 season, including the NS Junior Lifeguard Games and the Lifesaving Sport Summer Series Round #3.

Announcements regarding the Pool/Emergency Response 2020/2021 season will be made by the end of September.

The NS Lifesaving Society has cancelled the Maritime Surf Lifesaving Championships (Lifesaving Sport Summer Series Round #2).

Public Health guidelines, including those for provincial sport organizations, will continue to be monitored as the summer progresses.

The NS Lifesaving Society has cancelled the Lifesaving Sport Summer Series Round #1.

The decision was made after consulting with all members of the NS Lifesaving Sport Commission. The health and safety of all our athletes, officials, and volunteers is our top priority, and we will continue to monitor Public Health recommendations as the season progresses.

The NS Lifesaving Society will follow all Public Health recommendations to ensure the health and safety of all our athletes, officials, and volunteers.

The final decision for each competition for the Open Water 2020 Season will be announced at least two weeks prior to each competition.

All remaining competitions for the Pool/Emergency Response 2019/2020 Season have been cancelled.
